Under the Sea
I love drawing underwater pictures! Underwater tangles! Underwater gardens you might call some of them. This one is only partially done. I have been trying different art styles and techniques in my Stillman & Birn Zeta Series Sketchbook. I will be curious to see how this 9" x 12" drawing turns out with color. I think I'll work with copics and twinkling H2Os. I'm curious to try those two together, on this paper. When I get back home where my pens are, I'll get to work on it and let you know.
That sea snail looks terrific - I love the way you use Indyrella too.

Interested to see what happens with those colouring media together - hope the paper doesn't soak up the ink from your Copics - that's what I'd be wary of.

Thanks, paula! That sea snail is fun to draw! As for the bleed through on the paper, I'm not too concerned with that. I don't typically use the backside of the paper, so I'll just layer a sheet of parchment paper underneath. Although I doubt it will be a big issue. The zeta series is 180 pound paper, but I will be curious to see if - and how much - bleed through it has. Maybe that will be a new post :)
DeleteVery nice. I love this idea Alice! Is that sea snail a pattern or just your rendering?
ReplyDeleteThanks, caren, it's a little bit of both. It's a combination of michelle beauchamp's spiral and a couple new patterns I'm working on. Glad you like it!
DeleteOh it feels like years since I came to visit you Alice.
ReplyDeleteI've been so absorbed with moving that I've not drawn anything for months...I don't think I can last much longer. hehe
Now I'm so inspired by your work that I'm going to have trouble staying away from my pens!
I was wondering if my mojo was still hidden in one of the packing boxes but after seeing your patterns I know it's alive and kicking and ready to fly!
Thanks for that!!! LOL
I can't wait to see the colours appear...I'll be watching with interest :D
This is gorgeous, Alice. I really like the feeling of movement in it. Blessings!
ReplyDeleteThis is just lovely, it is so peaceful!!!
