Looking For Something New?

Looking for something new? This past week, I took a few days off and headed to Orlando. Alone. I stayed at the Disney complex and just locked myself away in a room. For the most part. It rained every day I was there anyway, so it isn't like I missed a lot by not going to the parks. I did manage a trip or two to Downtown Disney, picked up a replacement pair of Toms, had some awesome Chinese Chicken Salad, and some Jelly Bellies from Goofy's candy shop (whose exact name I can not recall). All in all, it was a successful trip. Oh yeah, I worked on some new stuff, too. Here is a little teaser, but don't look for it anytime real soon. I'll let you know when and where you can get a look-see. Hopefully before too long! Have a great week! I'm off to babysit the little munchkin tonight so her mom and dad can have date-night :). Yay!!!!!!!

Hached - A New Pattern

Hached. There are similar patterns to this one - I don't think I've seen one exactly like this. Simple to do, good for borders, you could even run it in rows. Here are two examples showing Hached at work.
Simple pattern - looks great in a straight line, looks great on the curves. Have fun! And feel free to pin this pattern to your pinterest boards!

Pink Cognito

Photobucket
I really like this new pattern ziggy by Judy West! It's nervy and lots of fun to draw.  I just really felt like drawing circles - so here it is - Pink Cognito. Totally done with microns - no, I did not use my watercolor pencils - hahaha! So it is possible to go without for one time. Patterns - wiggle worms, ziggy, portholes, chevron, and a variation of my own hached. You should 'like' Judy's FB page - Judy's CreativeDoodling - and have a look at her work!

Diva Challenge #79 - 2012 London Olympics

iamthedivaczt Photobucket
This week's Diva Challenge - hosted by Rho Densmore, CZT - is all about the olympics coming up next month in London.

The following is quoted directly from the International Olympic Committee: "The five rings represent the five continents. They are interlaced to show the universality of Olympism and the meeting of the athletes of the whole world during the Olympic Games. On the Olympic flag, the rings appear on a white background. This flag translates the idea of the universality of the Olympic Movement. At least one of the colors of the rings, including the white background, can be found on the flag of every nation in the world."

To check out all the olympic inspired tangles, head on over to the Diva's page here.

Celtic Knot

Photobucket
I found an image online - a basic pattern for a celtic knot.
Then, I transferred the pattern onto a round tile using the method taught here. The knot basically breaks down into two separate sections.
I used a different pattern in each - a shattuck variation and a pattern I can't find a name for - is it already out there? If not, I'm going to call it hached. Like hatch marks :). I added a little color background with my Pitt pens.
This was fun and really simple to do! The fact that it looks like a zendala is just a welcomed coincidence :).
