Happy New Year!

I sat on my chaise
in the early morning hours,
drawing my first zentangle of 2015,
waiting for the fireworks to subside
so the dogs would quit barking
and I could sleep.
And praying Frankles wouldn't be awoken
by the barky dogs.

I have also been trying to come up with a word
that would describe my art for 2015.
A word that would carry through
into my art journals,
into my tangles and drawings.
A word that would describe who I am,
and who I want to be this coming year.
I've closely zeroed in on a word,
but I can't remember it,
so I had to make a note on my phone
for when I forget my word.
Ugh!
Too much going on in my life.

Part of me thinks my word should be:
slow down and take a breath.
Hahahaha!
Yes, I know.
More than one word.

OK.
Here is what I am thinking about -
fanciful!

The Free Merriam-Webster describes that as:
marked by unrestrained imagination
rather than by reason and experience.
Also:
made without regard for reason or reality.
And:
imaginary or unreal.

I think that pretty much describes who I am.
As a person.
As an artist.
As a blogger.
And I want to carry that into my new year,
to expand and build upon it,
to embrace it and let it describe me even more strongly.
In a positive and uplifting way.

Happier, more alive,
more satisfied with my life.

One other thing I want to incorporate
back into my art -
scripture.
When I started this art journey 2 short years ago,
scripture popped up here and there in my artwork.
I need to get back to those roots.

What about you?
What are you looking for in this new year?
Where will your 2015 journey take you?
