On the Riverbank - Challenge #69

iamthedivaczt Photobucket
This week the Diva's challenge was groovy, a pattern offered by Eden at Cut'n It Up! Here's my first shot at it. Groovy was not easy for me to draw, it should get easier with practice. In addition to groovy for the water, I used my own flower design that I call sunz, pearlz for the border, and a variation of punch for the riverbank. I watercolored for the first time with my water pen using the Derwent Intense Pencils, and finished it out with some highlights in At You Spica markers.

Head on over to Laura's page here to check out everyone's offering of Groovy! Maybe you'd like to add your own design :).

  1. Groovy is new for me, too. Not an easy one, for sure. Anyway, cute tile. Very fitting for the springtime :)

  2. Groovy makes wonderful rippling water. What a bright cheerful tangle. And you are correct it will get easier. One of the greatest benefits of the challenge!

  10. Color is so much fun to add isnt it? Love the watery feel here. I end up always doing it vertical for some reason, but horizontal it definitely says 'water'. Thanks for sharing

  12. I like that you have a theme. I always find that more interesting, not really being an abstract thinker! Your colors are great, and I like all the different patterns chosen, even like the little dots around the SUNZ on the left.

  18. Very pretty - I also wouldn't have thought of groovy as water, but it really does look like water the way you've colored it. Love the design of sunz!
