New Release: Tangle Starts Treasures #tanglestartstreasures #artangleologyseries #tanglestarts #tangleallaround

Alice Hendon, new release Tangle Starts Treasures overview
Book #4 in the
is now available worldwide on the
various Amazon online store websites.
Just released yesterday,
had already jumped to the
#1 spot on the Hot New Release list
within a couple hours. So exciting!!!

 Described as a
traveling treasure trove of tangle temptations
this book actually came about as a result of
some questions in the Facebook group I admin
I had a lot of members asking how they
could organize and store their tangle
pattern step outs in one location.
I figured it was about time I designated an
Artangleology book to meet that need.

Alice Hendon, new release Tangle Starts Treasures overview
Above you see the index for Treasures.
Primarily it is a place to draw step outs for the
tangle patterns you want to keep track of.
The ones you will want to be able to draw at a
later time and not have to worry about where
in all the websites and blogs you may have seen
that one certain pattern.
Now you can make a record of the ones you find
interesting . . . when you find them interesting!
That way you know where they are.
They will be in your book of treasures.
Alice Hendon, new release Tangle Starts Treasures overview
The step out pages are set up like this.
There is room to record the steps for up to four
tangle patterns per page.
You should always record the name of the
pattern and the designer if you know them.
It is considered courtesy to credit the
designers when you use their patterns.
You can not do that if you do not
know the information.
Each page has a tile where you can create a
piece of art using the patterns from that page.
You can easily store step outs to 376 patterns in
More if some of them have less steps.
Alice Hendon, new release Tangle Starts Treasures overview
I included some strings for your use.
Some basic, some zendalas.
All you need to do is tangle them.
They are very much like the strings found in
Alice Hendon, new release Tangle Starts Treasures overview
There are also some blanks tiles for you to
create your own strings, then tangle.

Remember it is primarily for the organization
and storage of tangle pattern step outs.
Have some favorite tangles you want to remember,
but don't necessarily need to record the steps?
There are pages where you can do this.
Been wanting to try your hand at creating your
own tangle patterns?
There are instructions teaching you how to do that.

Any time I can share a photo of one of my dragons -
it is a good day! Hahaha!
This is Mushu.
The red one.
The other one is me

is an excellent resource to add to your
zentangle materials.
One thing I forgot to mention is the size.
At 6" x 9" Treasures is just right for
on-the-go tangling.
Whether in an airport, a hotel room
or sitting on your sofa,
Treasures can make the trip with you
and be there when you need it.

Thank you so much for appreciating my art
and being so supportive of my books!

Working in my Tangle Starts Book #tanglestarts #zebrapen #artangleology #mixedmedia #tanglestartstreasures

Alice Hendon, working in my Tangle Starts book available on Amazon.com
So much fun!
I've been having a lot of trouble getting
into tangling lately, and I just wanted to
draw lots of printemps.
Sometimes that is all I can make myself do.
And I didn't feel like making a background.
So I pulled out my Tangle Starts book which
has all that work already done for me.
was the first book I solo published.
All the pages are in full color and they are
backgrounds that I made using many different
mixed media products.
All I had to do was add the tangles themselves.
So I used my Zensations Technical Pens from
Zebra Pen where I am an artist ambassador
and I started by drawing the little printemps.
One thing led to another and I ended up with
a lovely little underworld scene.
Alice Hendon, working in my Tangle Starts book available here https://www.amazon.com/Tangle-Starts-1-Alice-Hendon/dp/197942280X/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1537029197&sr=8-1&keywords=tangle+starts
The pages in Tangle Starts can be tangled
right in the book. This would give a wonderful
tangled journey of your work.
Or
you can use the pages for art journaling.
Either in this book or remove the pages
and use them in your own art journal.
Or
you can tear up the pages for collage work.
It really is a pretty amazing book with all
the artistic opportunities it provides.
You can look at it further here
and if you want a copy, it can be purchased
here

I released a brand new book today.
I'll blog about it tomorrow,
but if you don't want to wait you can get a
little preview here

Reorganizing My Studio #whatamess #mystudio #whereiwork

Reorganizing once again because I can't find something.
It is hard to find certain things because I keep
thinking about where they were in Florida.
Every inch of this room is utilized for storage.
And it does get a bit out of control from time to time.
Recently, I have had several people ask about
my studio, so I thought I'd show you some photos.
The above shot was taken from the doorway.
No, I did not paint the pictures over the TV.
They are the art of Jasmine Becket Griffith.
I got them at Disney Springs.
Of course Tinker Bell is my favorite!
Mostly I use the TV to listen to the radio.
Hahahahah!
Those white cabinets came from IKEA.
Of course.
The boxes on the shelves are filled with various paints and inks.
I am working on a system to get them out in the open where I can actually see what I have.
The white enclosed cabinet is the shipping station for my store.
That next chest with the colored drawers came from
Hobby Lobby. They still carry this cabinet.
That's just part of my lunchbox collection up top.
Down the right-hand side is where I actually work.
The two tall black cabinets came from Hobby Lobby
and the rolling carts full of ink sprays are
from IKEA.
I have carpet on half the floor.
That way if I have a mishap with color -
it doesn't get on the hard wood floors.
Wow! I'm just noticing how cluttered things were
in these photos. It looks better now. Honest.
My store is located in the closet. All the shelves are full.
In both directions - left and right and out of sight.
I have been pulling things out in order to downsize.
I'd really like to get out of the shipping part of the store and go all digital.
I have a rack coming that will hang on the inside of the closet door.
I am going to put as much of my color as will fit
on the shelves so I can actually see and
grab without having to move a lot of things.
Some more of my lunchboxes, Funko Pop figures
and my Zen the Zebra from Zebra Pen where
I am an Artist Ambassador.
I've put together and published three books
from that desktop, using that computer
and all these supplies.
Tangle Starts has all full color pages -
similar to what you see on the cover -
ready for you to just add your line work to.
Or use as an art journal or for collage work.
Tangle Starts Planner is set up in the style
of a bullet journal with heavy focus on the
tangler and tangling art.
It has 106 new tangle patterns and plenty
of places to store your favorite patterns and
for you to draw and tangle away the days.
Tangle Starts Strings is my most recent book.
There are 378 pre-drawn strings so all you have
to do is add the drawing.
That hard first step of setting up your string
has already been done for you.

I am currently working in stages on four more
books for the tangle artist.
They will round out my Artangleology Series
More info on those later.
This concludes my studio tour.
Hahaha!
I hope you enjoyed it.
And I promise,
it is cleaner and more picked up now.

Tangle Starts Strings, A String For Every Day of the Year is Live on Amazon

Tangle Starts Strings cover Alice Hendon, The Creator's Leaf
Tangle Starts Strings is live on Amazon!!!
This is Volume 3 in the Artangleology Series.
It has been a long time coming and
I am thrilled it is finally available.
Within 72 hours it should be available
for Kindle as well.
Happy dance!
table of contents for Tangle Starts Strings, Alice Hendon
There are literally 366 different strings in
the book. You can tangle right in this book
and have a piece of art for every day of the
year, plus Leap Year!
What a fantastic heirloom this could be!
Above you can see the contents of the book.
And a big plus is my dear friend
Geneviève Crabe giving me twelve of her
digital strings as a bonus.
So there are actually a total of 378 strings!
That should keep us all busy!
sample page from Tangle Starts Strings, Alice Hendon, The Creator's Leaf
There are basic Zentangle® instructions to get
you going (in case you haven't tangled before)
and I even included a few tangle patterns for
you to work with.
And I tell you where to find loads more
step outs to use on your strings.
Special thanks to CZTs Sandy Hunter and
Carole Ohl for allowing me to use a couple
of their patterns.
sample page from Tangle Starts Strings, Alice Hendon, The Creator's Leaf
There are five categories of strings included.
Above you see an explanation for one of those.
sample page from Tangle Starts Strings, Alice Hendon, The Creator's Leaf
Here are a couple samples to show you what
the pages look like.
And I need to tell you that I am having this
printed in full color.
No, there isn't a big need for color in this book.
The benefit is we get a heavier paper by using
the full color option, which means hopefully
no bleed through.
I did include a pen test page just in case.
sample page from Tangle Starts Strings, Alice Hendon, The Creator's Leaf
Each of the 378 strings have a place for you
to record the names of the tangles you use.
This is something I included in the
and I really like the feature.
A place for you to document your
favorite tangles.

Working in My Tangle Starts with Zebra Product #zebrapens #tanglestarts

under the sea tangle in my Tangle Starts book from Alice Hendon, available on Amazon.com
I love tangling in my book
I put together a whole bunch of my full
color backgrounds and Christine helped
me make it into a book.
(She is my technical super ninja friend!)
I tangled up a page yesterday using my
from Zebra Pen.
(I am an Artist Ambassador for them.)
These pens work so great in this book!
Solid fills, no bleed, no feathering, no skips.
Just awesome lines!

Collections Pages in My Planner #zebrapen #tanglestartsplanner

cover of the Tangle Starts Planner, a way to tangle through the year - my book
Please allow me to shamelessly promote my books.
Hahahaha!
Specifically the
This book is available on Amazon all around the world
and it is being really well received!
You can combine planning, organizing, bullet journaling,
and tangling all in one location.
I set many of the pages up with a dot grid so you could
easily arrange your monthly and weekly pages
the way YOU want them to be!

spiral bound copies of my two newest books Tangle Starts Planner and Tangle Starts
This past weekend, Mark and I drove into Bangor
during a huge snow storm -
what in the world were we thinking??? -
and while we were there I took my books to the local Staples
store and had them spiral bound.
That is not a function my publisher offers and
I am finding I really like having them spiral bound!
collections page example inside my book Tangle Starts Planner
Bullet journaling is all new to me,
so I am learning as I go.
This particular set of pages I set up for what they call
"Collections."
This is a place where you store bits of notes,
lists of things you want to be able to find later,
important information,
things you want to keep track of.
Here are four examples of the way I am using the
collections area.
I am already working on a new planner for next year,
trying to keep my notes all in one place for
things to remember to make the next one
even better!
collections page example inside my book Tangle Starts Planner
Quotes are going to be an important part of every
book I put together, so I figured I needed a place to store them.
I have many more than this in another book -
I need to relocate them all to this one location.
collections page example inside my book Tangle Starts Planner
Being an artangleologist means always coming up with
new tangle patterns.
After a while it gets a bit confusing -
what has been published v. what hasn't.
So a new collection was started for that.
(That little pig was torn out of a Coldwater Creek magazine!)
collections page example inside my book Tangle Starts Planner
Occasionally I get asked for my 'numbers.'
And I never have them available when someone asks,
so I set up a collections page to track my numbers
every month. Easy peasy!

I am an Artist Ambassador for
which means I use a lot of their product!
Everything you see drawn or written in all my
books has been done with a Zebra product.
I particularly love their Sarasa Gel Retractable pens
for working in my planner!
They come in 14 colors and lay down nice and smooth,
never a skip or a blob or a mess.
I just love them!
My favorites are the purple (I have used mine all up and ordered more,) pink and blue!
You can never go wrong with a Zebra pen!
cover of my color book Tangle Starts - all ready for you to add your tangles to
That's collections in a nut shell!
And since I'm 'shamelessly' promoting one book,
why not do likewise with the other?
Here is my
 book available on Amazon.
It features full color pages that you can tangle on
and create a tangle journal,
or you can use them as bases for an art journal page
and make this an art journal,
or you can tear the pages out and use them for collage work.
All the color has already been done for you!
You can purchase it here

I know so many of you have already supported me
by purchasing my books and I thank you so much!
You guys are the best!
