Unfailing Love
The unfailing love of the Lord. A stronghold when things are tough. My life of late is just one stressor after another, to the point that sometimes just putting one foot in front of the other is a bit tough. I know I can't be the only person that feels that way. When my heart feels heavy, when everything gets on my last nerve, I need to step back and feel that unfailing love of the Lord. And trust it.

It's All About the Swirls! IA Challenge
This is the first week I've participated in the challenge at Inspiration Avenue. This week's theme is swirls, so I had fun tangling a bunch of swirly patterns - swirling! I drew this in my mini smash journal, then colored portions with my Pitt Artist Markers. Patterns include wavy border, portholes, swirls, printemps, river, and a variation of nipa. To check out all the swirls, visit Inspiration Avenue. Perhaps you 'd like to post a piece of your own artwork!

Can We Punk in Pink?
Hopefully I'm not breaking some kind of code.
Some kind of steampunkiness code.
I got to playing around today with this pattern auraknot - trying to get it down - and I ended up with a steampunked wall - on a piece of pink background paper. In - what else? - my mini smash journal. I love it! Steampunk is so much fun! And I think auraknot will be, too, as soon as I'm used to it :).

Diva #77: Fiore di Pietro
Fiore di Pietro, this week's Diva Challenge, for Peter's Memorial Book. This pattern was designed by Rho Densmore as she grieved the passing of her brother-in-law. Rho is putting together a memory book for the family and has asked to use our drawings in the book. Rho, yes, you may certainly use my drawings. What a wonderful thing you are doing for the family! You are all in my prayers.
Above was my two-page spread. I drew this out in my new smaller Smash Journal. The pages are small and compact, fun drawing in these books. Patterns on this page are: fiore di pietro, pokeleaf, and sunz (my pattern.) Coloring was done with Pitt Artist Pens.
Rho's new pattern was a real challenge for me. I spent 3-4 hours drawing this 2-page spread. I'm still relatively new at this and speed is not my friend. My fiore di pietro is different on this page, a variation so to speak. And totally not planned. It just turned out this way :). I do know what I did 'wrong', but I like the two different versions. This page patterns are: fiore di pietro, pokeleaf, and pokeroot. You can see all our contributions here, at I Am the Diva! Jump in and join us!

This week's Diva Challenge was to make eccentric circles and tangle them. I'm not totally sure I understood what I was supposed to do, but this is what I came up with. And this is what you're getting for my part of the challenge - hahaha! Hopefully it's close to being the right thing!
It was fun to do. As I was making circles I noticed that a couple looked like Mickey ears, so I went with that idea! I'm hopeful that the ball with the small ears (lower left) might be reminiscent of the big ball at Epcot where the attraction Spaceship Earth is housed. I love Walt Disney World!
Patterns I used are: kolum, hurry, bulb lantern, jalousie, snaylz trayl, baton, and ying yang - add a little shading and it's good to go! You can check out everyone's eccentric circles (and see if I had any clue at all) at the Diva's page here.
