This is one of the actual inked backgrounds I made for the book.

I created it using Dylusions Ink Sprays, a stencil
and a whole lot of water and paper towels.
Then I used a variety of Sarasa Fineliners from
to outline those butterflies you see,
and to start adding some details.
Then I pulled in some Sarasa Fineliner Pens in various colors and filled in some areas.
Wink of Stella pens gave me that glitzy glamour
and a Uniball Signo gel pen made the highlight pops.
You can get a better look at what I used for most of my work here. I just kept adding details until I
was happy.
And I ended up here.

These butterflies look stunning with their vibrant colouration - I'm intrigued by the way you extract the shapes from your patterned papers & how the tangles evolve from them. This has got to be one of your best.
ReplyDeletethank you! it is definitely one of my favorites. I did a similar one several years and cut it up into ATCs for a swap that never happened. and I had already mailed them in and never received them back. so sad, so I keep trying to recreate the piece.
