Diagonal²

Today in Maine it is supposed to be a high of 14 degrees, with a low of 9. Snow is imminent, if not already happening. If you follow my Facebook page, know that there will definitely be snow shots showing up there and on instagram. For sure. Hahaha!
This ATC was colored with brusho color crystals, I love those!  They work so well! That grid pattern is called Diagonal². I put this tangle together for a showcase on Facebook. I will release a step out for it soon.

New Tangle - Corn Rows

 I have been really busy drawing step outs

to my own tangles.

I have a little square journal that I am keeping them in.

Only the ones that I've developed myself.

Corn rows is one I've been using here and there.

It's easy to draw.

The hardest part is remembering to alternate

the direction of the pods for each row.

 Corn rows can be used as a filler tangle,

or as a border with equally great results.

And there is a wide range of tangleation possibilities.

Here you see it as filler. I think I'll make a border of corn rows next. *  *  *  *  *  *

Thursday String Idea, #11

 Welcome to Thursday String Idea.

This is week #11 and it's a fun string!

I enjoyed this string! That top left section is a new tangle I've been working on  and I'm calling it corn rows. Step out to come soon, but there's really nothing to it. It melds right into a variation of merryweather, then frost flower. The little bit of rounding comes with those first two tangles.

Thursday String Idea #6

 Welcome to Week 6 of the

Thursday String Idea!

I am sorry I missed posting last week.

Mark and I were in Maine looking at houses.

The Florida heat is really messing with me and we want to move to a cooler climate.

We did a lot of research before we went.

We knew exactly what we wanted.

And even though our 'dream' cabin turned out to be a dud,

the realtor pointed us towards a dream house we would have 

never looked at because of the price.

Fortunately, since we first saw that house online -

and the time we went to see it last week -

the seller dropped the price $30,000.00 

which made an unattainable house suddenly attainable.

Long story short - the seller accepted our offer and we should be closing on this beautiful home in a little over a month.

Anyway, I am back this week with string #6. You can print the string out here - it is sized to fit a 3 1/2" tile. If you want additional size links, just let me know and I will make it happen.
The tangles I used are fiore and frost flower. It reminds me of the Starship Enterprise for some reason. Hehehehe.

This is a basic blocked out string that leaves you several spaces to tangle. You might even carry tangles over from space to space. There are several ways you could interpret this string.
Tangles I used: printemps, frost flower, fiore, florez, and ta-da.

Thursday String Idea #3

Welcome to Week 3 of the Thursday String Idea! Please feel free to print out the string and tangle your own work of art with it.  The string is sized to fit a 3.5" tile. You can print it from this link OR  there will be another link at the bottom of the post. 

This is a nice geometric sting that you could interpret in many ways. Here is my take on String #3. (Hahaha! I'm just noticing that it also stacked.) From left to right, I used: ta-da, frost flower, fiore, and flying geese.

Circle Stacking

Circle stacking is different than stacking circles. Hahahaha! And I have done those before. This is an idea developed by Italian tangler Simona Arian Cordara. You start with a circle, then lay in your string. Next add tangles. Shade, admire, reflect. 
I made this circle stack on a page in one of my smash books. From K & Co. That bright, pretty scrapbook paper is the perfect background for some tangling. Circle stacking. It's what's new!
